The firm is pleased to welcome Ms Wendy Tan, who joins the Corporate Department as a Partner with effect from 1 October 2015.
Wendy graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1990, and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1991. She has since then spent some 10 years as in-house counsel with Fortune 50 companies and the rest of her career in private practice. She has been involved in corporate commercial, corporate and corporate real estate practice, in Singapore and via cross-border transactions.
Wendy’s experience in corporate work encompasses direct investment/private equity, acquisitions and dispositions of companies and businesses, joint ventures and shareholder agreements, share swaps and buybacks, downstream and midstream oil and gas off-take, terminalling and borrow-and-loan agreements, public-private partnership agreements and hospitality agreements. Her experience with private companies include the restructuring of companies, spin-offs, integrations, buy-outs and advice in relation to taking up or disposing of strategic debt or equity interests.
She has also worked in conjunction with area specialists from financial services and tax, advising on matters involved in the purchase or sale of prime commercial buildings and development sites, some of which were for clients launching or managing private property funds or real estate investment trusts. She has many years of experience in commercial leasing, for the most part acting for major developers in their negotiations with anchor tenants for the lease of prime office space in Singapore’s central business district.
