【タン・ティー・ジムについて】

タン・ティー・ジム（Tan Tee Jim）、シニア・カウンセル（SC）は、1979年にシンガポール大学を卒業し、1980年にシンガポール法曹資格を取得しました。また、ロンドン大学にて法学修士（LL.M.）を取得しています。

1999年、同氏はシンガポール最高裁判所（Supreme Court of Singapore）よりシニア・カウンセルに任命されました。シンガポールにおけるシニア・カウンセルは、卓越した法廷弁論能力、高い職業倫理および深い法的知識を有する法曹として認められた選ばれた法律家です。現在、約100名のシニア・カウンセルが実務に従事しています。

同氏は、知的財産法および競争法分野における数多くの重要訴訟に関与してきました。その中には、知的財産法および競争法の発展において画期的判例となった案件も含まれています。

また、知的財産法に関する著述活動でも広く知られています。"Halsbury’s Laws of Singapore（Intellectual Property）"の総編集者を務めるほか、"Law of Trade Marks in Singapore"（Sweet & Maxwell、第4版、2021年）の著者でもあり、同書はシンガポールの裁判所において継続的に引用されています。さらに、国内外の会議で定期的に講演を行っています。

現在は、シンガポール知的財産庁（Intellectual Property Office of Singapore）のIP裁定官を務めるほか、Competition Appeal BoardおよびData Protection Appeal Panelの委員を務めています。過去には、Copyright Tribunal副会長、シンガポール国際仲裁センター（Singapore International Arbitration Centre）、世界知的所有権機関（World Intellectual Property Organization）、およびSingapore Domain Name Dispute Resolution Panelの仲裁人を歴任しました。

また、シンガポール特許代理人協会（Association of Singapore Patent Agents）の創設者兼元会長、アジア弁理士協会（Asian Patent Attorneys Association）の元副会長、ASEAN知的財産協会（ASEAN Intellectual Property Association）の創設理事でもあります。さらに、国際商標協会（International Trademark Association）の複数の委員会（インターネット委員会を含む）で活動してきました。

同氏は、"The Asia Pacific Legal 500"、"Global Counsel 3000"、"AsiaLaw Leading Lawyers"などの国際的法律評価機関により、シンガポールおよびアジアを代表する知的財産弁護士として継続的に評価されています。また、特許訴訟分野において「brilliant（卓越した）」および「iconic figure（象徴的存在）」と評されています。2024年には、シンガポールの全国紙（The Straits Times）が顧客および同業者を対象に実施した調査において、シンガポールの「Top-Rated Lawyers」25名の一人に選出されました。
