Lee & Lee’s employment practice calls upon the firm’s cross-disciplinary expertise to address both non-litigious and litigious matters faced by our clients in the employment space.
Our clients include both multi-national corporations with complex human resource requirements and specialised needs as well as local clients with less complex requirements.
Our Work
Our areas of practice for non-litigious employment matters include:
Advising on the employment regulatory regime in Singapore, including issues under Singapore’s Employment Act, the maternity protection regime and Central Provident Fund contributions
Reviewing, drafting and commenting on employment agreements, handbooks, policies and other related employment documentation for a broad range of employers
Acting for employers in relation to employment termination and/or retrenchment exercises
Acting for employers in relation to the transfer of employees upon a business sale or business restructure
Advising on data privacy issues in the employment context
Advising on various anti-competition / non-solicitation clauses between employers, prospective employers and employees
Advising employees of their employment and contractual rights during the pre-employment phase as well as upon termination
Our areas of practice for litigious employment matters include:
Acting in matters involving wrongful and constructive dismissal, summary termination, and redundancy exercises.
Acting in the enforcement of post-employment restraints, including non-solicitation, non-compete, and confidentiality obligations.
Acting in matter involving breach of fiduciary duties, diversion of business opportunities, and misuse or exfiltration of confidential information and intellectual property.
Acting in matters involving allegations of employee misconduct, fraud, harassment, discrimination, workplace bullying, and retaliation.
Acting in executive remuneration disputes, including claims relating to salary, bonuses, commission, stock options, and other incentive schemes.
Acting in investigations and enforcement actions commenced by the Ministry of Manpower, the Central Provident Fund Board, and the Tripartite Alliance for Fair & Progressive Employment Practices. We guide clients through the complexities of these regulatory frameworks, defending against claims and ensuring compliance with applicable obligations.
