Overview

Our Real Estate & Property Department (headed by our Mr Ow Yong Thian Soo and Ms Sharon Tay) specialises in the whole range of real estate transactions, from the sale and purchase of properties both on an individual and collective basis, to development projects involving properties under construction.

Our vast repertoire of experience includes transactions involving condominium developments, hotels, factories, cinemas, shipyards, shopping malls, medical facilities, warehouses and numerous other commercial and residential buildings in Singapore, which are often reported in the news media. 

We represent both corporate entities and individuals. We have acted for many public listed companies in the real estate, financial and other sectors, leading developers of residential, commercial and industrial projects, as well as governmental authorities and high net-worth individuals.

With our comprehensive knowledge and understanding of real estate transactions, legal and regulatory requirements and our clients’ commercial needs, our team of dedicated lawyers has structured and successfully concluded numerous high-value transactions, often worth hundreds of millions.

Our Work

The legal services we provide include advice on, preparation, negotiation and conclusion of sale and purchase contracts, lease agreements, security documentation and other transaction documents relating to areas such as the following:

    • Residential, commercial, industrial properties, including properties administered by government agencies such as JTC, HDB and URA

    • Individual units and entire buildings

    • Vacant land, including land sales by government and statutory bodies

    • Sale and purchase of developments on a collective or “en bloc” basis under the Land Titles (Strata) Act 1967

    • Joint sales involving multiple properties

  • Sale of housing accommodation and commercial properties under the Housing Developers (Control and Licensing) Act 1965, Executive Condominium Housing Scheme Act 1996 and the Sale of Commercial Properties Act 1979

  • Joint redevelopment of land, including allocation / exchange of units in the new development constructed on the land

    • Leases and tenancies of land, buildings and premises

    • Licences of land and spaces in buildings

    • Preparation of template tenancy / licence documentation

    • Notices of death and transfers by assent
