MAS Clarifies Singapore SFO Licensing Exemption Framework

The Monetary Authority of Singapore has on 12th June 2026 released the FAQs on the Licensing Exemption Framework for single family offices (“SFOs”) in Singapore.  This framework clarifies how the statutory exemption under the Securities and Futures (Licensing and Conduct of Business) Regulations are intended to apply with respect to SFOs.

The FAQs provide practical guidance on the conditions that an SFO must satisfy in order to operate in Singapore under the licensing exemption framework. They also clarify the notification and annual reporting process applicable to SFOs.
