Navigating Intellectual Property Valuation in Singapore

To effectively commercialize and exploit one's intangible assets (IA) / intellectual property (IP), it is imperative for valuation to be done. Yet, in a 2023 survey of over 500 companies from various sectors conducted by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), only 15% of the respondents indicated that they had undertaken standalone valuation of their IA/IP.

To provide a starting point for such an undertaking, our IP department has written a summary of the dominant approaches to IA/IP valuation.
