About Eugene

Eugene Lau is a Partner in the Intellectual Property Department at Lee & Lee. As a legal practitioner with a technical background, he holds an LLB and a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering). 

Eugene specialises in Intellectual Property (IP) and Information Technology (IT) law. This includes advising clients on various aspects of IP/IT law, assisting clients with IP registration, enforcement of IP rights, contentious IP proceedings, IP due diligence and advisory work in relation to a broad range of commercial, IP and IT agreements.

He also advises on regulatory compliance matters, including technology, telecommunications, advertising, data protection and consumer protection. Eugene’s experience also extends to representing clients in general and alternate dispute resolution, and he has assisted clients to reach amicable commercial settlements in their disputes.

• Acting as lawyer and legal advisor to a statutory board in respect of a contractual dispute in the Singapore High Courts

• Acting as lawyer and legal advisor to a statutory board in respect of a public law issue

• Acted for Nippon Paint Singapore to overcome a third party opposition brought against its trade mark application

• Acted as lawyer and and legal advisor to various statutory boards in respect of trade mark infringement matters 

• Acted for Lego in respect of copyright infringement, including liaising with the Intellectual Property Rights Branch of the Singapore Police Force to carry out raids
