About Margaret LAW

Margaret Law is a Partner in the Intellectual Property department.

She received her Bachelor of Laws degree from the National University of Singapore in 1995. In 1998, she obtained a Master’s degree from the same university. She was called to the Singapore Bar in 1996. In 2000, she was also admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.

Margaret is an effectively bilingual lawyer with expertise in intellectual property registration work and transactional work involving intellectual property. She is experienced in the drafting and negotiation of various types of commercial agreements incorporating intellectual property aspects including technology agreements, licensing agreements, research collaboration agreements, confidentiality agreements, agency agreements, software agreements, franchising agreements and distributorship agreements.

She is also well versed in trade mark prosecution work and has regularly advised on trade mark registration issues and brand protection strategies. Margaret has substantial knowledge of intellectual property requirements and practices in the Greater China region due to her previous work experience in Hong Kong.

Additionally, she is a member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) as well as the European Communities Trade Marks Association (ECTA).
