About Yu Meng CHAN
Chan Yu Meng is a Partner in the Corporate department.
He graduated from the University of Durham in 1995 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1997. Yu Meng joined Lee & Lee as an Associate in 2005 and was made a Partner in 2007.
Yu Meng currently practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, venture capital work, capital markets, domestic and international joint ventures, corporate finance, corporate restructuring, securities law, stock exchange practice and corporate secretarial matters.
A sample of the nature of his work scope is set out below:
- Advising SMEs on their applications to the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (the “SGX-ST”) and other relevant bodies for an initial public offering and listing of their shares on the SGX-ST and specialised OTCs, with market capitalisation of handled listings in excess of S$80 million.
- Advising listed companies on their continuing listing compliance, corporate disclosure and corporate governance prescribed under the SGX-ST Listing Manual and the Singapore Securities Industry Council’s Code on Take-overs and Mergers, in respect of various aspects, including private placements, rights issues, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions.
- Advising exempt financial advisers and fund managers on the structuring and offering of financial advisory and fund management services and compliance with relevant securities laws and regulations.
- Advising on the incorporation of companies and corporate secretarial matter, including preparing resolutions, maintaining statutory registers, implementing stock option schemes, preparing Annual Returns and advising on the preparation of Annual Reports.
- Acting for a service provider in contractual negotiations with a major bank in respect of a high-tech turnkey system project to provide information technology products and services for a contract value of approximately S$100 million.
- Acting for SGX-ST listed companies in respect of rights issues of shares and warrants, raising proceeds in aggregate of approximately S$21 million.
