About Michael KUAH

Michael Kuah is a Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution department.

Michael graduated from the University of Singapore in 1983. After graduating, he joined Lee & Lee, and was admitted to the Singapore bar in 1984. In 1990, he was made a Partner.

Michael handles both domestic and international disputes with particular emphasis on commercial, property and construction related matters. Some of his recent work includes:

• acting in construction related claims between owners, contractors, supplies and related parties including a 50 days arbitration between a nominated sub-contractor and its domestic sub-contractor involving a wafer fabrication plant;
• acting in an international arbitration in relation to a foreign airport terminal in which the claim is about US$500 million;
• acting as lead counsel for the majority owners in the en bloc sale of Waterfront View (583 units, S$385 million) in the landmark appeal to the High Court which was decided in their favour; and
• acting as lead counsel for the majority owners in the en bloc sale of the Futura (72 units, S$297.3 million) in appeals to the High Court and to the Court of Appeal which were decided in their favour.
